terms.md

the rules for a maparts account. short version: be 18+, don't be a menace, it's free and comes with no promises, and you can leave whenever you want. long version below.

run by: ExDeDe, the one person behind this site. contact via the contact form, discord, or email contact@exdede.xyz. what gets stored about you and why is in the privacy policy; these terms don't repeat it.

what_you_get.txt
  • the service: a free account on /maparts that keeps a collection and a wishlist of maparts for you across browsers, and optionally links to your Minecraft account through a one time code so the mod can fill the collection in for you. that's all an account does. reading the wall, the playground and the guestbook never need one.
  • price: nothing. no card on file, nothing to buy. if i give an account extra access to something, like the market data, that's a free gift i can take back, never something sold.
  • what you need: a current browser with javascript on and cookies allowed for this site, because staying logged in is one cookie (see the privacy policy). linking Minecraft also needs the mod.
  • how it starts: ticking the box on the signup page and pressing create account. that's you accepting these terms, and the account exists from that moment. the date of the version you accepted is stored with the account.
18_plus.txt
  • accounts are for people who are 18 or older. the wall holds maparts players built, and some of them are marked NSFW. they're blurred by default, but an account is a step toward using the wall properly, so the line sits at 18.
  • ticking the box says you are. if i find out an account belongs to someone younger, i delete it.
dont.txt
  • pick a display name that isn't a slur, a threat, or someone else pretending to be you. i can rename one that is.
  • one person, one account, and only yours. don't log into other people's, and don't link a Minecraft account that isn't yours.
  • no mass signups, no scripts hammering the API, no scraping the wall to death. normal use of the mod is fine; that's what it's for.
  • found a bug that lets you do something you shouldn't? tell me instead of using it. i'll thank you rather than ban you.
  • don't use the service to put anything illegal anywhere, or to break the law in any other way. this is required to be written down, and it's also just true.
ending_it.txt
  • you can end it any time, for any reason, without paying anything: message me and the account goes, along with its collection, wishlist and any Minecraft link.
  • i can ban or delete an account that breaks dont.txt, or belongs to someone under 18. a ban logs you out everywhere at once.
  • i can also change what accounts do, or shut the whole maparts account thing down. it's a hobby project on one small server. if it's going away, i'll post that on the wall first so you have time to note down what you collected.
no_promises.txt
  • it's free and run by one person, so it comes as is. it can go down, a bug can eat part of a collection, and the mod's tracker can miss a map. i fix what i can, but there's no uptime guarantee and no backups promised to you.
  • none of that takes away any right the law gives you that can't be signed away, including your rights as a consumer in the country you live in.
complaints.txt
  • something broken, a ban you think was wrong, or anything else about the account service: send it through the contact form or to contact@exdede.xyz. say which account, what happened, and what you want done about it.
  • you get an answer within 14 days, to wherever you wrote from.
fine_print.txt
  • changes: if these terms change in a way that matters, the new version gets a new date at the bottom and a notice on the wall before it applies. changes never reach back to before they were posted. don't like a new version? ask me to delete the account.
  • law: Polish law applies, but it doesn't take away any protection the law of the EU country you live in gives you as a consumer. a dispute can go to the courts where you live.
  • not affiliated: this site isn't made by, endorsed by or connected to Mojang, Microsoft or DonutSMP.
